Fear, Hate | Love, Forgiveness! Opposing forces working together against each other, driving a wedge and bring together at the same time. Both forces uniquely suited to play their own individual roles, yet alone neither has a purpose. Without Fear there is no Love and without Hate there is no forgiveness. The oppose each other and yet need each other at the same time. This oddness isn’t unique to these emotions or feelings; peace doesn’t exist without war, grace doesn’t exist without sin. All forces opposing each other and our familes are no exception. Not only our physical family, but also our brothers and sisters in Christ who are all around us, even the ones we do not know, like the random Christian at the grocery store who you’ve never seen before. You might pass right by him next to the peanut butter or milk and never know he is your Brother in Christ.
It’s so odd isn’t it? That we think so much about our siblings, our blood reletaves, but can walk right past a Brother in Christ and not even squint an eye. I wonder why that is? Why are we so hostile to strangers and so loving to family and yet we fight the most with our family and will let so much go from strangers? Could it be this Love/Hate relationship? This spiritual force that pulls us from both directions at all times? I think so!
Something about this World so grand, beyond our understanding, and yet we think we know everything while we fall towards death in the blink of an eye while our Father in Heaven watches with His Seven Eyes, knowing each decision we shall make, allowing us to sin and yet still loving us for that feeling which is greater than all other…. Love! How can we ever learn to Love so much? We are made in His Image! We are created to be His Friend, His Bride, yet every day we fail to do the most basic thing, the most natural and pefect thing, choosing rather to do it’s opposite as we fight against our maker in the flesh and hope for His forgiveness in the Spirit!
[Romans 8:13 KJV] “{13} For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
What a terrifying statement! The core of the opposing forces, battling it out with each other, one seen and one un-seen, one leads to death and the other to life! No visible reference other than a few words in a book to show us the way and yet everything depends on this one decision, flesh or spirit? Life or Death! Oh what a mystery, oh what a war!
Let us pray today that God forgive us of our constant seeking after and choosing of the flesh rather than the spirit. Let us pray that God wash us in the blood of His Son Jesus Christ and look not on our sins, but rather on His Son who died on that old wood so that everyone else in the Whole world, in all of time itself, might have access to that blessed place and see His perfect Love forever! Praise God for His Love, Forgiveness, Peace, Mercy, Patience, etc.! Praise Him for His sacrifice, even though we live in the flesh, we must walk in the Spirit and always seek to grow closer to God!
[Matthew 6:33 KJV] “{33} But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
